Obituary of Carolyn Streck

View Memorial Video Memorial services for Carolyn Sue Streck will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2009, at the First Baptist Church, Troup with Dr. Rodney Woo and Rev. Mike Jeter officiating, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Carolyn Sue Streck, daughter of the late Dwight Little and Estella Mae Hada Little, was born July 12, 1943 in Alva, Oklahoma, and passed away April 9, 2009, at her home in Troup, Texas, at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 28 days. Carolyn attended the Greenleaf Grade School and graduated from Alva High School. On July 5, 1963, she was united in marriage to Larry Streck. To this union two sons were born, Brian and Mark. Carolyn worked as Mother's Day Out Director at Wilcrest Baptist Church and helped prepare the Wednesday night meeting meals for years. She worked for the Alief school system for 17 years as Registrar/Attendance Clerk. Her most important, and favorite, calling was that of wife, mother and grandmother. Several of Carolyn's hobbies were attending garage and estate sales, antique shopping and spending time with her many friends. Carolyn had a special fondness for the holidays, especially Christmas. She would spend many hours decorating and preparing for the holidays every year. Carolyn loved to be on the go and you never had to ask her twice. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Stanley and her sister Jan. Carolyn is survived by her husband Larry of Troup, Texas; her son Brian and his children Savannah, Sawyer, Stanton and Sunni of Flower Mound, Texas; and her son Mark and his wife Holli and their children Jake and Claire of Roanoke, Texas. Also surviving are her brother Warren Little of Alva, Oklahoma and his family, her brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Sharol Little of Estes Park, Colorado and their family, her sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Gordon Hobbie of Altamonte Springs, Florida and their family; and numerous other family members and many friends.
