Obituary of Mellody Daugherty

Funeral services for Mellody Ann Daugherty, 35, Overton, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2006 in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Atwell Hankins officiating. Private burial will be in the Overton City Cemetery. Mrs. Daugherty died Sunday, February 12, 2006 in Rusk County. She was born May 15, 1970 in West Monroe, Louisiana to Travis Tee and Virginia Ann Slack Hutsell. She moved to Overton from Port Netches, in 1987 and graduated from Kilgore High School. She was a student at Kilgore College and was a homemaker and she attended the First Assembly of God Church. She was a wonderful mother and a loving daughter. She was thoughtful and caring and the greatest friend you could ever have. She was preceded in death by a brother, Chase Dean Hutsell and she was joined in death with her daughter, Hallie Ann Daugherty. She is survived by her husband, Donnie Daugherty of Overton; a daughter, Chasity Dawn Daugherty of Overton; her parents, Travis T. and Virginia Hutsell, Overton; a brother and sister-in-law, Travis Daren and Shelly Hutsell, Overton, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
