Obituary of Sarah Hedgecough

Funeral services for Sarah B. Hedgecough, 87, Troup, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at the First Assembly of God, Troup, with the Reverends Wes Bynum and Gaylon Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the Henry's Chapel Cemetery near Troup. Mrs. Hedgecough died Sunday, March 5, 2006 in Tyler. She was born June 23, 1918 in Smith County to the late Marlin and Ellen Pulliam Bedair. She resided in the Troup most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Major Thadeus Beall Chapter #6068 Daughters of the American Revolution, Jacksonville. She was a avid gardner and loved the outdoors. She was active in her husband's cattle business for 40 years, and was a wonderful quilter, a dedicated genealogist, and a member of the First Assembly of God, Troup. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hedgecough, and a brother and six sisters. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and John Steele, Troup; two sisters, Opal Snipes, Bullard and Doris Stinecipher, Tyler; three grandchildren and their spouse, Doug and Cindy Steele, Scott and Maja Steele, and David and Janette Steele; seven great-grandchildren, Sarah Steele, Rebekah Steele, Bo Steele, Chance Steele, Grant Steele, Lauren Steele, and Ryan Steele; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hedgecough is also survived by a special caregiver, Mildred Davis of Henderson. Pallbearers will be Wayne Boshears, Matt Boshears, Mike Penn, Doug Steele, Bo Steele, and Chance Steele. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, TX 75701. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, March 7.
