Obituary of Ruby Yancy

Services for Ruby Yancy, 89, Arp, are scheduled for 3:00 pm, Friday, February 27, at the Cotttle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton, with the Reverend Doctor Ron Klingsick officiating. Burial will be in the Mason Cemetery, Arp. Mrs. Yancy died Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at her residence in Arp. She was born March 20, 1919, in Hopewell, Alabama to the late William Matthew Anderson and Linnie Weathington Anderson. Mrs. Yancy attended Arp Public Schools. She married Herman Yancy in Arp, February 27, 1937. They moved to Paris and then Mobile, Alabama, where she was the telephone supervisor for the Infirmary Hospital, and returned to Arp in 1986. Mrs. Yancy was a member of the Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Yancy, and her brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Vivian Anderson. Survivors include nieces and their husbands, Barbara and Richard Arnold, Arp, and Janice and Baker Pattillo, Nacogdoches; a great-niece, Paige Pattillo; three great nephews, Bill Arnold, Mack Arnold, and Andy Dillard; three great-great nieces, Lauren Arnold, Brittni Dillard and Holli Dillard; and three great-great nephews, Scott Arnold, Hunter Arnold, and Matthew Arnold.
