Obituary of Freda Pritchard

Services for Freda Pritchard, 79, Leverett's Chapel, are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Thursday, February 26, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton with the Reverend Johnny Wright officiating. Burial will be in Rusk County Memorial Gardens, Henderson. Mrs. Pritchard died Monday, February 23, 2009, in Henderson. She was born March 10, 1929, in Reeds Spring, Missouri to the late Lemuel and Gertrude Blair Hedrick and had been a resident the Kilgore area for the past 63 years. She was a homemaker, seamstress and musician who played almost all musical instruments. She loved Blue Grass and Gospel Music and was a member of the Pistol Hill Pickers Blue Grass Band. Mrs. Pritchard was a member of the Assembly of God Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Boyd Hedrick, Jack Hedrick, Lewis Hedrick, James 'Sonny' Hedrick; and Ruby Johnson, Edith Allen, Patricia Nye, and Barbara Ranney. She married Loren Pritchard, July 27, 1946 in Reeds Spring, Missouri. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Loren Pritchard, Leverett's Chapel, a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Ruby Nell Pritchard, Clancy, Montana; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Charlotte and Billy Howard and Carol Reed, all of Overton and Kathy and Harry Hamilton, Tatum; three brothers, Bill D. Hedrick, Kilgore, Buck Hedrick, Laird Hill and Glen Hedrick, Dallas; two sisters, Georgia Morris, Overton and Jessie Ligon, Kilgore; nine grandchildren, Kim Riley, Stephanie Vaught, Wesley Norman, Justin Pritchard, Jon Norman, Susan Stewart, Joey Stewart, Holly Hamilton, and April Dygert; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Justin Pritchard, Jon Norman, Wesley Norman, Joey Stewart, Harry Hamilton, and Dale Hedrick. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Don Higginbotham and Cullen Davis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, February 25.
