Obituary of Naomi Elaine Simmons
Funeral services for Naomi Elaine Simmons, 85, Arp, will be at 3:00 pm Saturday, February 21, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton, with the Reverend Doctor Ron Klingsick officiating. Private burial will be in Mason Cemetery, Arp.
Mrs. Simmons died Wednesday, February 18, 2009 in a Henderson nursing home. She was born September 15, 1923 in Delhi, Oklahoma to the late Buford Ray and Lucy E. Townley Nunn. She was a homemaker and a member of the Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church where she was active in the visitation ministry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Watson Simmons and a son, Buddy Simmons.
Survivors include a son Melvin Simmons, Arp; one sister, Lucille Simmons, Ft. Morgan, Colorado; five grandchildren, Cindy Wilkin, Terry Rowell, Krystal Epperson, Melvin Don Simmons, Jr., and Steve Simmons; three great grandchildren, Eric Rowell, Melody Rowell and Amber Raye; two great-great grandchildren, Bryan Ryan and Dyllon Ryan; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, at the funeral home.
