Obituary of Bettye Wright Streeter Miller
Services for Bettye Streeter Miller, 88, Overton are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Monday, February 16, at the First United Methodist Church, Overton with the Reverend Wes Bynum officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Henderson, under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
Mrs. Miller died Friday, February 13, 2009, in Tyler. She was born August 18, 1920 in Henderson to the late Memory Griffin Wright, Sr. and Blanche Sparks Wright. She was a 1937 graduate of Henderson High School and attended Kilgore Junior College.
Mrs. Miller moved to Overton in 1961 from New London. For five years, she was employed by Humble Pipeline Company in Longview before beginning her 50 year career with the First State Bank, Overton where she served as a bank Vice-President and also as Secretary for the Board of Directors.
Mrs. Miller was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Overton, for over 63 years, where she was a member of the choir. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leslie Miles Streeter, in 1994 and by Henry Miller, in 1999. Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Hazel Wright, Ellen Rogge, and Irma Milstead.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Leslie Memory Streeter and Celeste Streeter, Bay City, Jeffery Wright Streeter and Julie Streeter, Kilgore; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennie Sue and Donnie Vetsch, Longview; a brother and sister-in-law, M.G. And Kathryn Wright, Longview; a sister, Frances Lyle, Austin; six grandchildren, Jason Vetsch, Jonathan Streeter, Travis Streeter, Michael Streeter, Jenalee Streeter, and Jared Streeter; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Todd Meadows, Fred Parsons, Rogers Pope, Randy Bjork, Gary Russell, and Junior Stackhouse.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cecil Cook, John Rogers Pope, Jack Montgomery, Ron Earhart, and Dr. James Hamilton.
