Obituary of Nola Parnell

Services for Nola Janette Parnell, 65, Daingerfield, are scheduled for 3:00 pm, Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton, with Pastor Curtis Wood officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Overton. Mrs. Parnell died Saturday, February 18, 2006 in Daingerfield. She was born December 25, 1940 in Lufkin to the late Clarence Wayne and Clara Bell Modisette Jordan. She was a homemaker and moved to Daingerfield from Overton in 2005. She was also a member of the Church on The Rock in Daingerfield. She was preceded in death by a son, Byron Eugene Roman, and a brother, Steve Jordan. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Russell and Sharon Roman of Winnipeg, Canada, and Larry Curtis and Debra Roman of Henderson; three daughters and a son-in-law, Janice Jeannette Vangorder, Shreveport, Louisiana, Audrey Ritch, Overton, and Ruth Ann and Bobby Wheeler, Harleton; five brothers, Kenneth Jordan, Longview, Walter Jordan, Daingerfield, Wayne Jordan, McAllen, Jim Jordan, New London, and Roy Jordan, Henderson; four sisters, Margie Burns and Argie Lee Hamlett both of New London, Betty Kimbly, East Mountain, and Sharon Johnson, Lewisville; fifteen grandchildren, Rachele Hancock, Lisa Roman, Amanda Roman, Charles Roman, Christopher Roman, Nicholas Beall, Tara King, Lance Staples, Tim Staples, John Staples, Dewight Ritch, Walter Ritch, Andrea Ritch, Joseph Lee Hoover, and Crystal Hoover; thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
