Obituary of Doyle ‘Pee Wee’ Hamilton

Services for Doyle 'Pee Wee' Hamilton, 70, Troup, will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 23 in the Cottle Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery. Mr. Hamilton died Sunday, March 20, 2011 in Tyler. He was born October 14, 1940 in Concord to the late Cleburne and Lois Hamilton.  He was a life long resident of Concord and married Mildred E. Floyd December 19, 1964 in New Summerfield. He was a farmer and he was a Nazarene. Mr. Hamilton was a man with a unique personality and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He took pride in his vegetable crops and was known in many counties for his produce he grew. He always had a saying for everything he did. He never met a stranger and he always told the truth and he was always smiling. He was very loved by all his family and friends. Besides his parents, Mr. Hamilton was preceded in death a son, David Hamilton in 1967. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Mildred Hamilton, Troup; a son, Chris Hamilton and Jeanine Durham, Concord; two daughters and sons-in-law, Alisa and Johnny Hollis, Alba, and Kimberly and Delton Carrell, Whitehouse; eight grandchildren, Carlton Acker, Joseph Acker, Sarah Acker, Colton Hamilton, Hailey Hamilton, Avery White, Madison White, and Gage Carrell; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Carlton Acker, Joseph Acker, Colton Hamilton, Mike Mullican, Wayne McDaniel, Freddy Martin, and Rex Martin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, March 22.
