Obituary of Rena Ashcraft

Graveside service for Rena Ruby Ashcraft, 95, Troup, are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Wednesday, August 20, at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Houston, with Reverend Mike Cline officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Mrs. Ashcraft died Sunday, August 17 in a Tyler nursing home. She was born May 28, 1913 in Fairfield, Texas to the late James Aaron and Sara Frances Armstrong Weeks. She moved to Troup from Houston in 1961. She had been employed at the American Plasti-Plate Corporation, Bullard, and had cooked for the Rotary Club and Brass Light Inn, Troup. She was a member of the Troup First United Methodist Church. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Lee Ashcraft, New Caney; two daughters and a son-in-law; Sandra and Cager Wilkins, Troup, and Beverly Ann Hefner, Tyler; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, August, 19 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
