Obituary of Clara Womack
Services for Clara Womack, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 29, at the Union Grove Baptist Church, near Troup with the Reverend Jim Norman and Reverend G.A. Stanfield and James Womack officiating. Burial will be in the Union Grove Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Mrs. Womack died Thursday, June 26, 2008 in a Tyler hospice facility. She was born August 23, 1924, in Middleton, Oklahoma to the late Jim Kizer and Lou Tishie Batchlor Kizer.
She was a retired LVN and she attended nursing school in Jacksonville. She had worked at the Nan Travis Hospital, Jacksonville, Medical Center Hospital, Tyler, Overton Memorial Hospital, and Westwood Convalescent Home, Troup.
She married Leon Womack October 25, 1939. He preceded her in death July 17, 1983. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Clora Caldwell, Ludy Beatles, Effie Cain, Minnie Womack and a brother, Wilmer Kizer.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Linda Womack, Troup; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Ron Carpenter, Troup; a sister, Addie Herring, Troup; four grandchildren, Talyeen Works, Kelly Coats, Suni Lynn Montegegro, and Wendy McMichael; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bob Sanders, Ric Montenegro, Rusty McKinney, Tom Agers, Terry Womack, and Devin Coats.
The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Saturday, June 28.
