Obituary of Mary Whitten
Funeral services for Mary Lou Sahd Whitten, 69, Troup, will be Tuesday, 1:00 pm, January 21, 2014 at the Troup Church Of Christ, with Jim Heath officiating. Private Burial will be in the Pinecrest Cemetery, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Mrs. Whitten died Sunday, January 19, 2014 in The Hospice of East Texas, Tyler. She was born August 11, 1944 in Rensslaer, Indiana, to the late Marion Beasey and Eleanor Gee.
She loved taking care of children, she lived in Troup for 15 years, she loved her family, she was a member of The Church Of Christ, Troup, she loved working in the Clothes Closet at her church, she volunteered for Smith County Crisis Center, she was a teacher for Grace Early Child Care, New Generation Learning Center, she was a host for foreign exchange students and she touched many lives.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, Sam Whitten and Joe Sahd, and her grandson, Allen Poteet, and great grandson Logan McShan.
Survivors include her children, James and Kimberly Stark, Arp; Nathan and Missy Stark, Arp; Mark and Judy Stark, Troup; Katherine and Justin Kennedy, Flint, Michael and Laura Sahd, Early; Tony Sahd, Cerrillos, NM; James Terpening, Rue Lee Terpening, Austin; and foreign exchange student, Larissa Pfau, Germany; brother, Ray and Kelly Beasey, Hunnington, IN; Dorris and Eugene Bradley, Albuquerque, NM, 15 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Sam Stark, Danny Moore, Seth Stark, Chad Stark, Justin Reed and Jose Lainez.
Honorary Pallbearer Ashley Hembree.
Visitation for friends will be Monday, January 20, 2014, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the Funeral Home.
