Obituary of Joy Ann English

Memorial Services for Joy Ann English, 73, Whitehouse, are scheduled for 10:00 am Monday, June 16th, at the First Assembly of God, Whitehouse with Reverend Michael Fleming officiating. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:30 pm, Monday, June 16th, at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park, Mesquite, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Mrs. English went to her Heavenly Home Friday, June 13, 2008, in Whitehouse. She was born November 20, 1934, in Princeton, Texas, to the late Reverend Joseph and Byrdie Hall Warner. Joy was a professional homemaker in every sense and an incredible Gardner. Known as 'Nana' to her grandchildren, she was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the First Assembly of God, Whitehouse. Through her many challenges in her last years of life, her lovely graceful smile was always present and it will be missed tremendously. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. English and a brother Rayford Warner. She was a resident of Troup for from 1975 until 1993 when she and her husband moved to Whitehouse. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Kathy Waller,Troup; five daughters and three sons-in laws, Debra and Lenny Howell, Mesquite, Cheryl and Allan Heald, Berry, Deborah Smith, Red Oak, Dianne Waller, Athens and Rhonda and Eugene Toole ,Whitehouse; 17 grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Shannon Minton, Joey Waller, Jeremy Waller, Brandon Toole, Stephen Smith and Robin McLain. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday, June 15.
