Obituary of Cynthia Mead-Blackman

Funeral services for Cynthia Ann Mead Blackman, 51, Overton, will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 10:00 am at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home with Reverand Linda Owens officiating. Burial will be at Elkins Cemetery near Arp. Mrs. Blackman passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008 in a Overton nursing home. She was born in Livingston on June 14,1956 to the late John Van and Bernice Marie Seagroves Franklin. She moved from Overtonr to Gladewater five years ago, and was a homemaker. She married Richard Allen Blackman on March 3, 2003 in Overton. She was preceeded in death by a brother, Jerry Franklin. Survivors include her husband of five years, Richard Allen Blackman, Overton; three sons and two daughters-in-law, John "Freddie" Mead, of Tyler, Jonathan "Nathan" and Stacey Mead of Whitehouse, and Joel "Dougie" and Brook Mead of Rocksprings, Wyoming; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Pamela and Charles Moody of Rocksprings, Wyoming and Heather Mead and Andre Williams of Tyler; three brothers, John Boyd Franklin of Tyler, Jackie Franklin of Longview, and Brad Franklin of Arp; three sisters, Marilyn Richey of New Diana, Glenda Shelton of Tyler, and Beverly Ahner of Ohio; ten grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Scooter Dorsey, Jeff Shelton, Charles Lamar Moody, IV, Johh Franklin, Jr., Greg Doyle, and Michael Henson. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Franklin, Jackie Franklin and Brad Franklin. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, June 16, 2008 at the funeral home.
