Obituary of Mary Cohagen
Services for Mary Pauline 'Pensie' Cohagen, 73, Troup, are scheduled for 10:00 am, Friday, December 24, at the
Henry's Chapel United Methodist Church, near Troup with the Reverend David Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in the Henry's Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Mrs. Cohagen died Tuesday, December 21, 2010, in a Tyler hospice facility. She was born October 2, 1937, in Maydelle to Charles 'Bud' Fuller Ivy and Verna Pauline Fain Ivy.
She was a member of the Overton Telephone Pioneer Club. She also loved to play bingo and quilting and cooking. Mrs. Cohagen was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Laney-Gambrell American Legion Post #418, Troup. She had also worked with the Boy Scouts for many years.
Mrs. Cohagen was a member of the Henry's Chapel United Methodist Church.
She married Jimmy Cohagen, in Maydelle, October 4, 1968. He preceded her in death June 8, 2005.
In addition to her husband and father, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Ivy, Travis Ivy, and Frank Ivy.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Anita Watson, Rusk, Donna Kite, Gilmer, and Kay and Jeff Childress, Troup; mother, Verna Pauline Ivy, Maydelle; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alvin and Josie Ivy, Mansfield, Norman and Sondra Ivy, Lindale, Mike and Tressa Ivy, Palestine and Pat Ivy, Maydelle; sisters and brothers-in-law, Luana and James R. Watson, Arlington, Joy Davis, Columbia, Louisiana, and Katie McKinney, Baldwin, Kansas; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jeremy Cartwright, William Cartwright, Allie Ramirez, Brandon Stevens, J.R. Stevens, Jerrod Dean Cartwright, Joshua McAdams, Kyra McAdams, Caleb McAdams, Jessica Collins, Taylor Collins, Ty Collins, Tera Collins, Tristan Collins, Odessa Collins, Laney Birdwell, Douglas Laney, Kylee Mullings, Camille Laney, Jayna Williams, Julie Williams, Jude Staton, and Dooley Childress; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Agnew, Wes Barron, M.J. Florence, Anthony Martin, Tim Mager and Doug Steele.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Cartwright, Joshua McAdams, Douglas Laney, Dooley Childress, William Cartwright, Michael Collins, and Seth Collins.
The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Thursday, December 23.
