Obituary of Ramona Swain
Services for Ramona Faye Swain, 83, Longview, will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 31 in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton, with Reverend Marvin Harmon and Dale Grandstaff officiating. Burial will be in Overton City Cemetery.
Mrs. Swain died Tuesday, August 27, 2013 in Longview. She was born May 2, 1930 in Bixby, Oklahoma, to the late C. R. and Ethel Faye Stiles Grandstaff. She moved to Longview in 1985 from Memphis, Tennessee and she was a homemaker. Her children and grandchildren were the love of her life. She loved spending time with her dog, Mollie. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Dale and Louise Swain, Houston, and Stephen L. Swain, Longview; two brothers, Dale Grandstaff, Overton and Buddy Gale Grandstaff, Lake Fork; a sister, Jean Yvonne Jones, Arp; eleven grandchildren, Josh Swain, Dillon Swain, Jennifer Sanders, Scott Swain, Andrea Swain, Brendan Swain, Colleen Swain, Jeremy Barton, Jason Barton, Jon Barton and Harm Barton; eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be, Steve Swain, Rick Swain, Josh Swain, Dillon Swain, Scott Swain, and Brendan Swain.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Grandstaff, Shot Grandstaff, Jeremy Barton, Jason Barton, Jon Barton, Harm Barton, and Larry Shelton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, August 30.
