Obituary of Cecil Sieber

Services for Cecil Bryan Sieber, 82, Troup, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Sunday, April 22, at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, near Whitehouse, with the Reverends Bennie Portwood and B.C. McCoy officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will be in the Pinecrest Cemetery, Troup, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Mr. Sieber died Thursday, April 19, in a Tyler hospice facility. He was born April 13, 1925, to the late Bryan and Fannie Hill Sieber. He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marines during World War II and the Korean Conflict and in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of of Mt . Carmel Baptist Church. Mr. Sieber was an outdoorsman and had a passion for fishing, hunting, horseback riding, and animals. His love for family and friends knew no bounds. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Sieber and Harold Sieber; two sisters, Vesta Dennard and Gracie Bayless; and a son-in-law, Dale David Geddie. He married Betty Coryell, May 28, 1949. He is survived by the love of his life, Betty Coryell Sieber, Troup; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jeanne and Joe Johnston, Flint and Leisa Geddie, Winona; granddaughter, Carol Johnston, Tyler and Melissa Johnston, Frisco and a grandson, Jake Woodall, Winona; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Carl and Laura Sieber, Troup, John Allen and Mary Lea Sieber, Arp, and Thomas Sieber, New London; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Bill Kleam, Spring. Pallbearers will be Darwin Stainback, Scott Dowdy, Robert Cates, Bill Dowdy, Vernon Shaw, and Jr. Wood. Honorary Pallbearers will be Al Folmer, J.T. Stanton, Charles Kelley, and Buck Brown. Memorials, if desired ma be made to the Mt. Camel Baptist Church Building Fund, 10519 FM 344 East Whitehouse, TX 75791 or to the Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd, Tyler, TX 75701. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Saturday, April 21.
