Obituary of Billie Glaspie

Services for Billie B. Glaspie, 91, Tyler, will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, May 25, in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, in the Concord Community near Troup with Reverend Joe Ballard officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery under direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Mrs. Glaspie died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in Frankston. She was born January 31, 1922 in Concord to the late Rass and Leckie Barron Martin.  She lived most all her life in Tyler and was a bookkeeper for Glaspie Cars and Trucks. She was a member of the Azalea Garden Club and was a master judge. She a 66 year member of Glenwood Methodist Church where she was a active member and had served as Sunday School teacher. She was a full time wife and caregiver. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Alton Glaspie, a grandson, Bobby Glaspie, and a sister, Marilyn Clardy. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Colleen Glaspie, Frankston; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Darren Tonie, Pennsylvania; a stepdaughter and step son-in-law, Sue Nell and Danny Craver, Mesquite; seven grandchildren, Wayne Glaspie, Jodie Elliott, Kyle Wilson, Ken Wilson, Christopher Wilson, Jeff Craver and Jamie Craver; five great grandchildren, Justin Glaspie, James Glaspie, Jake Glaspie, Austin Elliott, and Lara Brook Elliott; a great great grandson, Jackson Wayne Glaspie; and a niece, Reba Glaze. Pallbearers will be Justin Glaspie, James Glaspie, Jake, Glaspie, Ken Wilson, Austin Elliott, and Wayne Glaspie. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Friday, May 24.
