Obituary of Joe Lee Mullican
Services with full Fireman Honors will be held for Joe Lee Mullican, 75, Arp, at 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 24, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Tommy Harden officiating.
Burial will be in Mason Cemetery.
Mr. Mullican died Monday, January 21, 2013 in Tyler. He was born April 8, 1937 in Smith County to the late Homer Lee and Ruby Allen Mullican. He graduated from Arp High School and married Ruby Nell Birdwell March 17, 1962 in Arp. He is a life long resident of Arp and has been an active fireman for the Arp Fireman Department since 1956. He is a member of the Arp Methodist Church and loved Arp, hunting and working in his yard. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Mullican.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Ruby Mullican, Arp; a son and daughter-in-law, Joel Keith and Kristina Mullican, Troup; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Tim Hamilton, Arp; four grandchildren, Dustin Hamilton, Lindsey Hamilton, Harley Guerra, and Evynn Mullican; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be the Arp Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers will be Dean McKnight, Lonnie Howard, Randy McKnight, Clarence Beekman, Merle Laney, Mack Laney and his nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, January 23, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
