Obituary of Frances Pucheu

Services for Frances Pucheu, 88, Troup are scheduled for 11:00 am, Friday, December 28, 2012, at the First Assembly of God Church, Troup with the Reverend Tracy D. Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Knoxville Cemetery, Troup. Mrs. Pucheu died December 25, 2012, at her residence. She was born October 4, 1924, in McAlester, Oklahoma to the late Marion and Lula Jones Dobyns. She grew up in the hills of Oklahoma to a true a pioneer family. She moved to Benishia, California during World War II to work in the defense industry and there she met her husband, Joseph C. Pucheu Sr. in a wartime romance. They married in Reno, Nevada, June 13, 1945. He preceded her in death after 48 years of marriage, August 11, 1993. They lived in California, Oklahoma and Mississippi. Mississippi is where Joe, Sr. and all five children were born. She had been a resident of the Troup area since 1965. Mrs. Pucheu was a mother and homemaker and was a member of the First Assembly of God, Troup. She was also a member of the Troup Chapter #421 of the Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Joe Pucheu, Jr., January 2, 2009 and by three sisters, Viola Osburn, Ruby Dobyns and Marie Hudson. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Glain and Deborah Pucheu of Troup and Pierre and Heidi Pucheu of Lufkin; two daughters and sons-in-law Frances 'Toni' and Glen Dowdy of Troup and Mozelle and Wiley Wayne Massey of Jacksonville; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Pucheu of Whitehouse; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Alfred and Doots Dobyns and M.K. Dobyns, Jr. all of Olivehurst, California; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Grandsons-in-law, Kevin Henson, Jimmy Henson, James Cole, Clark Massey, Chris Pucheu, Dewey Dowdy, Jeremy Dowdy and Hayden Terrell. Grandsons serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Glain Pucheu, Jr. and Emery René Pucheu. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Thursday, December 27.
