Obituary of Lottie Mullican

Services for Lottie Mullican, 90, Arp, are scheduled for 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton with the Reverend Doctor Ron Klingsick officiating. Burial will be in the Mason Cemetery, Arp. Mrs. Mullican died Sunday, December 9, 2012, in a Tyler hospital. She was born September 10, 1922, in Van to the late B.W. and Ollie Ann Bratton Freeman. She was a long time resident of Arp before moving to Tyler seven years ago. She was a graduate of Van High School and Commercial College and was a secretary for the Tyler and Ft. Worth Public School Districts. Sewing was her hobby and church was her life. She was a member of the Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church. She married Douglas Mullican August 20, 1948, in Wills Point. He preceded her in death August 27, 2006. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Brady Freeman and a sister, Merlin Beddingfield. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary June and Billy Allen of Tyler; two brothers, Clyde Freeman of Tyler and Lester Freeman of Arlington; three grandchildren, Jason Allen, Rheuben Bundy and Lillian Garcia; and six great grandchildren, Jake Allen, Jackson Allen, Isabel Garcia, Gisele Garcia, Elijah Garcia and Jonna Allen.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 11, prior to the service. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 87, Arp, TX 75750.
