Obituary of Oscar Moler
Services for Oscar E. Moler, 88, Troup are scheduled 12:30 pm, Thursday, January 17 at the Cottle Funeral Home Chapel, Troup, with Drew Ratcliff and Gary Chesshir officiating. Burial will be in the Gossett's Chapel Cemetery, Jacksonville.
Mr. Moler died Monday, January 14, in a Tyler hospital. He was born August 11, 1919 in Spencerville, Oklahoma to the late James T. and Willamina Neimeyer Moler.
Mr. Moler was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps as a Sergeant Major of the 20th Fighter Group. He retired in 1979 from the Schnadig Corporation following 25 years of employment. He was a member of the Gossett's Chapel Church of Christ.
He married Verda Duvall, December 13, 1941, in Rusk.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters, Preston Moler, Ellen Cook, Jean Odom, Annie Alexander, Lucy Lindsey, and Billy Fred Moler.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Verda Duvall Moler, Troup; a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Elaine Moler, Arp; a daughter, Regina Gray, Henderson; one brother, John Moler, Priest River, Idaho; two sisters, Odell Sessions, Tyler, and Elizabeth Henderson, Jacksonville; three grandchildren and spouses, Catherine and Chad Conner, Galveston. Carrie and Chris Tutt, Temple, and Jimmy Dale Moler, Mesquite; and one great grandson, Maddox Conner.
Pallbearers will be Bill Peevy, Richard Cameron, Michael George, Jody Smith, Larry Smith, and James Walker.

The Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, January 16, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
