Obituary of Ralph L. Dyess
Services for Ralph L. Dyess, 80, Tyler, are scheduled for 12 Noon Tuesday, January 8, at the Cottle Funeral Home chapel, Troup, with John Karl and the Reverend Chris Farrell officiating. Burial will be in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Mr. Dyess went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Saturday, January 5, 2008 in Medical Center Hospital, Lewisville, Texas. He was born February 6, 1927, in Lubbock to the late J.L. and Peggy Jackson Dyess, longtime residents of Tyler. In 1999, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years Ruth Morris Dyess. Mr. Dyess was a graduate of the University of Texas, at Austin, then spent the majority of his working life as the owner of a Tyler rose business. After retiring, he taught at Tyler Junior College for over 20 years.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Dyess.
Mr. Dyess leaves behind a Godly legacy to his survivors, two daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Dick Jones, Hickory Creek and Debbie and John Karl, Dallas; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Estelle Dyess, Burnett; Six grandchildren and their spouses, Chris and Amanda Farrell, Hawthorne, New Jersey, Courtney Farrell, Norman, OK, Brian and Sarah Jones, Plano, Brooke and Aaron Mizell, Plano, Charles and Deanne Karl , McKinney, and Kris and Julie Karl, Plano; four great-grandchildren, Mason and Madison Mizell, Ethan Jones, and Cooper Karl; a longtime special friend, Clara Nail; and many other loved family and friends.
