Obituary of Hazel Gill

Services for Hazel M. Gill, 91, Selman City are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Monday, November 5, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel, Overton, with Reverend Atwell Hankins officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery near Turnertown. Mrs. Gill died Thursday, November 1, 2012, in a Tyler hospice facility. She was born August 10, 1921 in Troup to the late M. A. and Lollie Bynum Golden and married Odell Gill June 26, 1937 in New London. She lived in Turnertown for 50 years and was a homemaker. She enjoyed dealing in antiques and she was an Assembly of God. Besides her parents, Mrs. Gill was also preceded in death by her husband, Odell Gill on January 26, 1988, an infant daughter, Lois, and by four sisters. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles and Fran Gill, Tyler, and Gary Gill, Turnertown; two daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley Gruich, San Antonio, and Bobbie and Bob Ruffridge, Canton;  two sisters, Fay Lathan, Hallsville and Jean Stevens, Long Beach, California; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one step grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.   The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Sunday, November 4.
