Obituary of Loyce Juanita Marks

Services for Loyce Juanita Marks, 82, Troup, are scheduled for 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 6, at the Union Grove Baptist Church Pavilion, near Troup with the Reverend Jim Norman officiating. Burial will be in the Union Grove Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home , Troup. Mrs. Marks died Friday, January 4, in a Tyler hospital. She was born December 14, 1925, in Athens, to the late James Monroe Weatherford and Eunice Coralee Cotton Weatherford. Mrs. Marks was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, J.D. Cook and Calvin 'Coonie' Marks; three children, Judy Gantt, Johnny Cook, and David Cook, and by a grandson, Jacob Stark. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Delia Cook, West Columbia and Donny and Ernestine Cook, Troup; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Loyce 'Cookie' and Bill Gatlin, Troup, Mary Johnston, Longville, Louisiana, Patricia Law, Sweeny, Debbie and Lewis Tucker, Gouldbusk, and Marsha and Aaron Stark, Athens; 29 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Saturday, January 5. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
