Obituary of Shirley Krueger

Services for Shirley Krueger, 71, Mixon, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 30, in the First Baptist Church, Mixon, with Reverend Jerry Hawbaker officiating. Burial will be in the Mixon Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Mrs. Krueger died Wednesday, December 26, 2007 in a Tyler hospital. She was born September 22, 1936 in Lindale to the late James E. and Dorothy Opal Buckner Hickerson. She married Lewis J. Krueger on May 4, 1956. A devoted wife of 51 years, Mrs. Krueger supported her husband during his 25 year military career. She had worked for H & R block and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mixon. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Lewis J. Krueger, Mixon; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Delores Krueger, Ft. Worth; two daughters and one son-in-law, Pam and Pete Rhoades, Tyler and Brenda Carlson, Austin; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Linda Hickerson, Liberty; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Wilma and Don Tefertiller, Corpus Christi, Mary and Douglas Futch, Mixon, Laverne and Monty Montano, Thornton, Colorado, and Wanda Dyke, Tyler; four grandchildren, Ashley Ferrer, Jeffrey Rhoades, Jessica Rhoades, and Don Carlson; and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Charles Krueger, Pete Rhoades, Jeffrey Rhoades, Douglas Futch, Monty Montano, and Lute Davis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, December 29, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
