Ms. Kelsey, It is with great sadness that I write this note to you. I was granted the great honor of being your son's Platoon Sergeant while at Ft Leonard Wood Mo. He was and will always be a great Soldier and friend, his mere presence and sense of humor brought a lightness to any situation. I can say without any doubt, that his actions taken that day in Iraq were nothing short of heroic. I know that his service to our Country and his sacrifice for another wounded comrade will never be forgotten. I hope that you find peace in your mourning, I know that Samuel would want you to. He will always be in my heart and prayers. With great sadness, Steve Pronovost

Mrs. Kelsey, you and your family have my very deepest sympathy over the loss of your son Sam. I did not know him, but apparently he and my nephew attended Troup High School at the same time. My nephew, Sgt. Casey Jones, died in an auto accident while home on mid-tour leave during his second tour in Iraq, so even tho lots of people may say they can understand and feel your pain, my family truly can. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers, and I have found myself stopping at Sam's grave each time I go to the cemetery to visit my nephew's grave, saying a prayer at each one. If there is anything I can ever do for you, please contact me by my e-mail address I have listed for you. Our boys both died heros, while serving their country that they loved. Gail White

Mrs. Kelsey & Family, I will never be able to repay what you son Sgt. Samual Kelsey has done for me and my family. The protection that he and the United States Military has provided is very much appreciated and I am so sorry for you that he is gone from this earth. I lost my son, Alex 17, in May to a traffic accident, and I can image the terrible pain that you must be feeling right now. I have prayed for you and your family that God will pour his blessings and comfort on you. May you find comfort in the fact that your son was so unselfish and your wonderful memories of him are with you always. When I get to heaven, I want to shake his had and thank him. God Bless You and God Bless the United States of America Erik Fleming
