My condolences to John and the family. I am so sorry of your loss. I thought of your family and wondered where you were living. Coach Jackson meant the world to me. I remember coming to your house and making Mexican cornbread. He made me laugh and I think I made him laugh. He has been truly missed all these years. I should have looked him up long ago and I did not. I know many years have passed since his passing but I did want to share with you my sympathy. He was a good man.

It was a true blessing to be one of Coach Jackson's students. On a team that most would consider a group of losers (a yes we did our share), he taught us how to be real winners. At all times he taught and demonstrated the values of leadership, respect, dignity, sportsmanship and honor. He was a man of real character. I'm glad that I had an opportunity to see him in October after all these years. My condolescenses to Mrs. Jackson, John Jr., Renee and your families.

Dear Rita, I know it has been a long time since you have heard from Pat and me. I just learned of John's passing and it was hard to believe. John befriended me while we were at Arp and I will never forget him. He is a fine man and one who got into the teaching profession for the right reasons. Pat and I always appreciated you and want you to know just how sorry we are. Please take care and know that you are in our prayers. Bill and Pat Salmon

Dear Rita and family, Our heartfelt condolences go out to you in your loss of Coach Jackson. He touched the hearts of many in his time as teacher and coach. He will be sorely missed and we are so glad that the Lord allowed us to get to know him and the family. One of my fondest memories of him is when we all went to Wisconsin on a mission trip and he let me wear one of his sweaters because we were so cold. We will hold you and your family in out thoughts and prayers. Love Rickey and Patty Hammontree
