Obituary of Billy Calley
A gathering of friends for Billy Ray 'Wild Bill' Calley, Sr. will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 4, at the family residence at 17677 FM 346 E.
Mr. Calley died Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at his residence in Troup. He was born August 12, 1941 in Delight, Arkansas to the late Earl Hemby Calley and Effie Winona Henderson Calley. He moved to Troup in 1971 from Houston and married Della Marie Reeves March 8, 1973 in Tyler. He was a truck driver and a painter and enjoyed motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donetta Calley in 1975.
Survivors include his wife, Della Calley of Troup; two sons, Billy Ray Calley, Jr. of Nacogdoches and Willie Earl Calley of Troup; six daughters, Sherry Slowikowski and Linda Calley of Nacogdoches, and Sonya Taylor and Winona Longloria of Pasadena; and Jessica Josey of Bossier City, Louisiana; his mother, Winona Calley of Troup; two brothers, Joe Calley of Troup and Michael Calley of Pittsburg; two sisters, Joyce Wickham of Troup, and Shirley Shields of Tomball; eighteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
