Obituary of Bobby McMillan
Services for Bobby D. McMillan, 75, Tyler, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 27, at the First Assembly of God Church, Troup with the Reverends Wes Bynum and Tracy Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery, near New Chapel Hill.
Mr. McMillan died Thursday, May 24 in a Tyler hospice facility. He was born August 25, 1936, in Tyler to the late Calvin and Leona Cryer McMillan. He was a lifetime resident of Smith County.
Mr. McMillan was a 1955 graduate of Chapel Hill High School and for 45 years was a truck driver. For the last six years of his career, he transported ambulances for East Texas Medical Center EMS.
He married Sue Williams June 15, 1957, in Tyler.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sue Williams McMillan of Tyler; a daughter, Cindy McMillan, Gilmer; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rocky and Connie McMillan of Tyler and Randy and Donna McMillan of Spring; a sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Rufus Smith of Mixon; grandchildren and their spouses, David and Lori Acker, Dwayne and Lindsey Acker, Dustin Acker, Rene and Justin Hill, Jennifer McMillan and Christopher McMillan; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Acker and D'Lyssa Acker; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Acker, David Acker, Dustin Acker, Christopher McMillan, Justin Hill and Mike Ford.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Rev. Tom Maddux, Don Slayton, Sap Thompson, Don Weeks and members of the ROMEO club.
The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Saturday, May 26.
