Obituary of Helen Crites
Services for Helen Frances Crites, 81, Troup are scheduled for 10:00 am
Tuesday, April 11 at the First Baptist Church, Troup with the Reverend James Cheatham and Reverend Doctor Paul Saylors officiating.
Graveside services are scheduled for 4:00 pm, Tuesday at the Aurora Cemetery in Wise County with the Reverend James Withers officiating.
She went home to be with her Lord Saturday, April 7, 2012, in Tyler.
She was born November 29, 1930, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to the late David and Grace Lee Lewis Turner. Helen attended first grade in Jenks, Oklahoma and by the time she graduated from high school in Poteau, Oklahoma she had attended eight schools across the country from Tennessee to California.
Helen graduated fromTyler Junior College with an Associate in Arts degree in 1972. She worked as an executive secretary in the petroleum industry until 1982 when she fell in love with the real estate profession. After getting the required education and experience, she worked as a Texas Real Estate Broker for twenty-five years and retired in 2007.
Helen was a member of the Troup Chapter #421 of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Gaudy Girls Red Hat Society, the Ruth Sunday school class and the First Baptist Church, Troup.
She was alway upbeat and very supportive and loyal to her friends; and she had great compassion for all animals.
Helen married Bill Crites, October 16, 1960, in Athens.
Survivors are her husband of 51 years, Bill Crites, Troup; a daughter and son-in-law, Cecilee and Danny Richards, Corsicana; three grandchildren and their spouses, Nancy and Greg McKeethan, Flint, Matthew and Denae Biscoe, Palestine and Jennifer and Sean Bynum, Corsicana; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson; a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Wesley Pickle, Poteau, Oklahoma; and two nieces and a nephew.
The Family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church, Troup from6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Monday, April 9.
