Obituary of Brenda Cook
Graveside services for Brenda Ruth Cook, 59, Athens, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 24, at the Union Grove Cemetery, located on FM 15 near Troup, with Reverend Jim Norman officiating.
Brenda Cook passed away on Friday, March 9, 2012, at her home in Athens. She was born August 28, 1952, in Texarkana, Arkansas to the late Marshall and Ruth Olinger Gregory . She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, David Cook, an infant son, William Tracy Sinclair, father, Marshall Gregory, Sr., mother, Ruth Cromer, and brothers, Donald and Richard Gregory.
She attended Longview High School. She was a dedicated mom, working two jobs most of the time to provide for her family. She had been employed as Café Manager for Tom Thumb many years and also as a store clerk at Stop 'N" Go. She moved to Athens in1999 and had worked at various other places. She had a great love for all animals. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy.
She is survived by, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brent Sinclair of Athens, and Gordon and Melinda Sinclair of Denton; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Josh Hanby of Denton; a step-daughter, Wanda Miller; a step-son, James Cook of Andrews; grandchildren, Trenton, Veda, and William Sinclair, and Doslyn Hanby; several step grandchildren; brothers, Marshall and Lowell Gregory; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
