Obituary of Margaret Flud
Services for Margaret L. Flud, 84, Overton, are scheduled for 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 3, at the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton with the Reverend Johnny Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Overton City Cemetery.Mrs. Flud died Friday, February 24, 2012, in a Tyler hospital. She was born November 4, 1927 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, to the late Edward James and Margaret Katherine Decker Sanborn. She married William D. 'Bill' Flud in Reno, Nevada, March 2, 1975 and they lived in California for many years where they operated the Yellow Cab Company in Petaluma, California. She had been a resident of Overton since 1990 and operated numerous Overton businesses including Gwendolyn's Movie Madness, Creations from the Heart, the Washateria, and an apartment complex. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Overton/ New London Area Chamber of Commerce and attended the Bible Baptist Church, Overton.In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, James Edward Brewington, a brother, John E. Sanborn, a sister, Pauline Neal and by her husband of 34 years, William D. 'Bill' Flud on August 2, 2009.Surivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine L. Baisden and Maynard L. Robbins, and Sandy Lyda, all of Saline, Michigan, Wendy and James Lowe, Napa, California and Gwendolyn Flud Rains, Overton; a brother and sister-in-law, Samuel and Jackie Sanborn, Houston; grandchildren, Jimmy Brewington, Timmy Brewington, Kimberly Kay Brewington, Jamie Dawn Brewington, Rachel Lyda, John Lyda, Thomas Wayne Rains, Sean Lowe, James William Rains, and Maggie Robbins; and a brother-in-law, Bill Neal, Overton; and numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Jason Rains, Erich Lindsay, Joe Todd, Clinton Gurley, Jason Welchel, and Gary Irwin.The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Friday, March 2.
