Obituary of Gaylon Rodney Duvall
Services for Gaylon Rodney Duvall, 70, Henderson, will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 1, at Martin's Chapel Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Johnny Davis and Reverend Merle Klink officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Mr. Duvall died Sunday, February 26, 2012. He was born April 22, 1941, in Pasadena, Texas to the late Richard Gaylon and Ola May Hamilton Duvall. He moved to the Henderson area when he was a small boy and worked as a rod buster for Texas Eastman. He was a member of Martin's Chapel Church of the Nazarene. Most of all, his attitude, both as a leader and a teacher, will be missed by his family, especially his integrity, love and keen sense of "pickin".
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Duvall, a son, David Baxter and on February 18, 2006, by his wife Sandra Jean Duvall.
Survivors include four sons and a daughter-in-law, Bengt Spizzirri, Henderson, Russell Duvall, Concord, Richard and Gabbie Baxter, Willsbury, Pennsylvania, and Allen Baxter, Galveston; two daughters, Jackie Hamilton, Henderson and Margaret Baxter, Concord; a sister, Wanda Jean Coleman, Concord; fourteen grandchildren,Christina Spizzirri, Bengt and Carrie Spizzirri, Angelo Spirzzirri, Emma Duvall, Jennifer Sampson, John Hartwig, Chasity Baxter, Casey Baxter, Jachin Webster, Stephanie Lloyd, Samantha Spizzirri, Lanetta Jean Spring, and Jeanette Burton; eight great-grandchildren, Evan, Raquelle, Destiny, Justiss, Kylie, Kairra, Everett, Justin, Jarrod, and Bentley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bengt Spizzirri, Randy Fields, Jachin Webster, Carl Fletcher, Wayne Martin, and Dean Martin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Delbert Hamilton and Junior Hamilton.
The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Wednesday, February 29.
