Obituary of Daniel McCord
Memorial services for Daniel McCord, 70, Tyler, are scheduled for 11:00 am, Friday, February 3, in the Cottle Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend Pike Wisner officiating.
Mr. McCord died Friday, January 27, 2012, in a local hospital. He was born September 16, 1941, in Nebraska City, Nebraska to the late Robert E. Lee McCord and Rosa Elizabeth Stoltenburg McCord.
Daniel married Kristy McCord, March 26, 1966, in Hollywood, California. He served in the United States Navy for 12 years.
Mr. McCord had worked previously for SOS Global as a logistics media manager for major sporting, presidential, and political events. He had also played a major role in the production and testing of the B1-Bomber Program in the early 1980's. He was stunt double for Doug McClure in the television series The Virginian. He was in the movie In Harms Way with John Wayne.
He moved to Tyler in 2008 and attended First Baptist Church, Tyler.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Kristy McCord, Tyler; son, Robert McCord-Kutney, Boynton Beach, Florida; daughters and sons-in-law; Neva and Jonathon Ryan, San Diego, California, Bridget and Larry Hefner, Troup; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Carol McCord, Carrolton; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
Memorials may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Avenue, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am until service time.
