Obituary of Ed Parish
Services for Ed Parish, 81, Arp, are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 25, at
Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church with Reverend Doctor Ron Klingsick officiating. Burial will be in Mason Cemetery, Arp, under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
Mr. Parish died Monday, January 23, 2012 in a Tyler hospice. He was born December 25, 1930 in Amory, Mississippi to the late Arnold and Wilma Anderson Parish.
Mr. Parish retired in 1991 after 26 years of employment as shop supervisor with Howe-Baker Engineers, Tyler. He married Mary Taylor on October 15, 1950, in Ashdown, Arkansas. He loved the outdoors and camping. He was a member of Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Noey Parish and two brothers, Hubert Parish and Norman Parish.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Parish, Arp; a son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Kay Parish, Jacksonville; a daughter and son-in-law, Dena and Richard Locklear, Arp; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Billy Parish, Arp, Harold and Ann Parish, Henderson, and Don and Ann Parish, Lake Cherokee; grandchildren and their spouses, LeAnn and Mack Curry, Lacey and Chris George, Joshua and Meagan Parish, Amy and Lucas Smith, Kristen and Brandon McGee, and Weston and Emily Hesterley; and 7 great grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be David Swinney, Stanley Brown, Eugene 'Blue' Martin, Johnny Stapleton, Robert Parish, and Ray Killingsworth.
The family extends a special thanks to Johnny and Hazel Stapleton, Dr. Royal Becker, the Continue Care Unit and Hospice of East Texas.
