Obituary of Thomas Cook
Services for Thomas G. 'Tommy' Cook, 64, Overton, will be at 4:00 pm, Sunday, November 6, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Atwell Hankins officiating.
Mr. Cook died Thursday, November 3, 2011. He was born October 15, 1947 in Overton to the late Norman and Mary Lois McAfee Cook. He graduated from West Rusk High School and was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Vietnam war. He married Donna Barton September 20, 2001 in Overton and retired from Mansfield Plumbing after 30 years. He has worked the past 9 years for Walmart in Kilgore. He was an exceptional man and a loving husband and father. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Donna Cook, Overton; a son, John Burks, Henderson; three daughters, Amber Cook, Overton, Shelley Burks, Henderson, and Missy Poston, Dallas; three brothers, Cayce Cook and Clint Cook, both of Longview, and Cody Cook, Gun Barrel City; four grandchildren, Erik Smith, Alyssa Poston, Addison Poston, and Avery Polk; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm, Sunday, November 5, prior to the service.
