Obituary of Mavis Olivia Haddock
Graveside services for Mavis Olivia Haddock, 96, Overton, are scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Overton City Cemetery with Reverend Tommy Harden officiating.
Ms. Haddock passed away, Tuesday, October 1, 2019 in Tyler. She was born December 29, 1922 in Hall Summit, Louisiana to the late Franklin and Zadie Mae Hodges. Ms. Haddock has been in the community since 1939. She married the love of her life Everett Haddock in Jefferson, Texas in 1939. She was a cashier at K-Wolens for 25 years. She was a member of Eastern Star and was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Overton. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and caring for her family.
Besides her parents, Ms. Haddock was also preceded in death by her husband, Everett Haddock, her son, Frank Haddock and daughter, Lanell Martin, brothers, Cecil Hodges, Frank Hodges and Calvin Hodges and sisters, Jean Brown and Anita Joy
Survivors include her daughter, Judy Macdonald of Tyler; son, Gerry Haddock and wife Lupita of Florence, Arizona; brother, Jimmy Hodges of Many, Louisiana; sisters, Patty Martina and husband, George Alford of Hutto and Melba Scarborough of Springhill, Louisiana; 6 grandchildren, David Prevost, Michael Bren Prevost, Greg Gammons, Sherri Lynn Winters, Brendon Haddock and Christian Haddock; 6 great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, October 4, 2019 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel in Overton.
