I have fond memories of Jon when we were kids. My thoughts and prayers go out to all his friends and family. I remember how caring he was and was always there for his friends to brighten our days. We lost touch when I graduated and joined the Navy. I wish I had stayed in touch with him over the years.
Rest in peace Jon. - Cynthia Chamberlin-Reece

Dear friends, THANK YOU so very much for your words and wonderful memories of dear Jon. We love and miss him so much. Please know he loved all of you and you were an important part of his life. We would like to convey a heartfelt "Afterglow" poem how we think Jon would like to be remembered.
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one,
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is
done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the
ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny
days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before
the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

Bartuska was a really good friend to us. We met him in Tyler and just lived two houses down from him. I didn't really get to know him till we transferred to PA and that's when he would come hangout with us because he was working up there. He was a joy to be around. I moved to Seattle for a year and got the chance to get together with him there a free times and got to meet his parents. I'm thankful for those times with hjm. I was so sad to hear about his passing for sure. Wish we could have seen home recently. I was excited to back in Texas because that meant we could see him soon...I loved Bartuska! He always kept us in his thoughts, even though we were so far away for so long! I will miss him! My condolences go out to his family! I'm so so sorry!!

Uncle Tom, Aunt Helen, Dave, Jill, Dorian,
Dearest Family, We are shocked and saddened at the sudden loss of our beloved Jon. We have so many, fond, fond memories of the times we spent together. Jon was such a special man. I (Tyler) remember the first time I met Jon. We were at Roger and Celine's house for Sheryl's college graduation party and we were playing croquet. He was only a child, but he smoked me. I'm sure he thought I wasn't good enough for his cousin and I was struck by his love for family that day and how fiercely loyal he was.
Later on we had some great adventures visiting him and traveling to National Parks in California when he was living out there. Our fondest memories are of camping and hiking and enjoying God's creation with him. His place in Texas was awesome and the boathouse that he built was an engineering marvel. He was so talented and creative!
We send our deepest, heartfelt condolences and sympathy to you, dear ones. While his time on earth was short, he made a difference, and he was a son, brother, cousin and friend you can be so, so proud of. He was a good man and we are going to miss him so much! God in His plan wanted Jon to be home with Him and while we are so very sad right now, one day we will be together again.
Every day God's mercies are new and we pray that His peace that surpasses all understanding will comfort you in this difficult time. We are praying for you and thinking about you daily in this, your time of need...
May God bless and Keep you, make His face shine unto you and bring you peace. All our Love,
Tyler and Sheryl

I met Jon when he was visiting his parents on Bainbridge Island, which he frequently did.
All 5 of us spent several days together at the kite festival in Long Beach one summer.
Jon was happy when he could help people, as he frequently helped me with electronics and technical stuff.
Jon was a generous and loving person- to his parents, to his brother and sister, and to his friends like me.
I was so shocked at his passing. I will miss him and always remember the big cheerful smile on his face!!

I got to know Jon through my good friends, his parents, Tom and Helen. He came to Seattle often to visit and when here, his Dad, another close friend and I would have a weekly coffee get together to solve the world’s problems. We spent other times together – holidays & a vacation to the WA coast.
Jon was a willing and very able problem solver, helping us “ole folks” make sense of the evolving electronic IT age. He gave cheerfully of his time and skills. I am shocked and deeply saddened by the life cut too short of a kind, generous and supportive friend.
He had one of the most caring relationships with his parents I have ever witnessed.

In our family we always joked that Jon was our big brother (another kid to my parents). He was always very kind to my family and we are very grateful for the times we spent together. Jon originally worked with my mother at Texaco but i can remember so many holidays spent with him and late night discussions about life and travels. Jon was fun and will be dearly missed at our dinner table!! We love you Jon, rest in peace sweet soul!!

So sorry to hear of Jon's death. We hadn't seen Jon much the last few years. I worked with him at Texaco and we remained friends after we both left. We loved going to his house on lake Tyler. We kept his dog OB the big black lab while he worked overseas. Jon would bring him over the day before he left and sit on our back porch and just talk to OB. You could tell it just broke his heart having to say goodbye to the dog.

Please accept my heart felt prayers and condolences. Jon and I were roommates when he was with J-W and working in Pittsburgh. He always made me laugh and listening to his stories were something I always looked forward to. I’m at a loss for words. Please know that Jon was loved and respected by everyone he knew and worked with at J-W. I am saddened and broken hearted with his passing. May God bless you during these darkest hours and give comfort to your family. Rest In Peace brother.

Jon was great guy and super engineer! I enjoyed working with him while at J-W Operating Company / Cohort Energy for over 8.5 years. We also skied together at Winter Park Colorado while staying at the company condo. Very sad & shocked to hear of his passing and prayers for the family. I definitely want his family to know that everyone that Jon came in contact with, while at J-W, really appreciated him as an individual and a very fine man!
Blessings to Jon's family during this period of grief! <")>><
Kind Regards,
Bobby
