Obituary of Brandon Scott Gurley

Services for Brandon Scott Gurley, 33, Overton, are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 7, 2019 at the First Assembly of God, in the Promise Land Building with Reverend Atwell Hankins officiating. Burial will be in the Kilgore Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Gurley passed away, Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at his home in Overton. He was born February 19, 1986 in Dallas to Clint and Paula Gurley. He attended Overton schools and later joined the United States Army.  After the Army he started working in the construction industry and also worked as a truck driver.

Mr. Gurley was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Wade Gurley, paternal grandfathers, Willard Tannehill and Bob Gurley and maternal grandfather Henry Helfer.

Survivors include his parents, Clint and Paula of Overton; daughters, Nevaeh Gurley of Overton and Nautika Trotty of Overton; a son, Braxton Gurley of Overton; brothers, Clinton Gurley of Beckville and Brian Gurley of Overton; a sister and brother-in-law, Tricia Gurley Huggett and Christian of Terrell; paternal grandmother, Corma Pogue of Alba and maternal grandmother, Nina Witherspoon of Crandall; and several other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Clinton Gurley, C.J. Gurley Jr., Jerry Woods Jr., Jerry Woods III., Pablo Estrada, Eric Burns and Caven Cox.  Honorary pallbearer is Braxton Gurley.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 pm, Saturday, July 6, 2019.
