Obituary of James David Boothe
James David “Jim” Boothe, 86, of Troup, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019, in Tyler, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

He was born February 12, 1933, in Oil City, Louisiana, to the late George Garrett Boothe and Janie Dean Braudaway.
Jim graduated from Overton High School in 1950. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. After coming home, he attended SFA and SMU, having a successful career in the insurance industry. He was a former member of Hilltop Country Club and the American Legion Post. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. In his earlier years, he enjoyed officiating and coaching youth football and baseball programs in the Troup area. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Troup. He married the love of his life, Nancy Anderson Boothe, June 11, 1982.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Theron Boothe, and grandson, Jason Wilson.
Survivors include his wife Nancy Anderson Boothe; sons, Bart Boothe and wife Toni, Jody Boothe and wife Gina daughter, Jamie Ann Springer; step-daughter, Lisa Doster and husband Kelly; 7 grandchildren, Hannah Boothe, Katie Boothe, Craig Stuart, Clint Wilson, Kelsey Doster, Kourtney Doster and Keller Doster; and several great-grandchildren.
