Obituary of Richard Johnson

Services for Richard Johnson, 83, Kilgore, will be at 10:00 am, Monday, January 10, in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ken Adkins officiating. Masonic graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 11, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, Houston, under direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.  Mr. Johnson died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at his residence. He was born March 26, 1927 in San Antonio to the late Edward A. and Catherine T. Brendlin Johnson and married Alice Pearl Vestal. He was retired and had owned and operated a services station pump and maintenance company and is a veteran of the US Navy. He is a 32nd degree mason and a member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge #23, Henderson. He is a member of the Kilgore First Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgia Elizabeth Johnson in 1985. Survivors include his wife, Alice P. Johnson, Kilgore, a son and daughter-in-law, Louis Edward and Sherry Johnson, San Leon; a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Rev. Kenneth Adkins, Mt Enterprise; a brother, Billy Johnson, Olympia, Washington; a sister Catherine Cochran, New Braunfels; five grandchildren, Louis Johnson, Allan Johnson Nikkii Wycoff, Brandy Hernandez, and Jay Adkins; seven great grandchildren, Cory, Rachel, Caleb, Demetrius, Nathaniel, Allie, and Samuel. Pallbearers will be Louis Johnson, Allan Johnson, Cory Wycoff, Caleb Wycoff, Tino Hernandez, and Dee Hernandez.
