Obituary of Cheryl Alsbury

Funeral services for Cheryl Eunice Alsbury, 75, Arp, will be Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Lakeview Community Church at 10:30 a.m..  

Mrs. Alsbury passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at her residence in Arp. She was born May 2, 1943 in Highland, Illinois to the late Gerald Raymond and Eunice Mary Hendershot Rush. She grew up in Greenville, Illinois and 35 years ago, she moved to Arp from Woodward, Oklahoma. She worked as a resident supervisor at the Northeast Texas Treatment Center in Overton for twenty years. She enjoyed her job and was very good at what she did and was able to help many people. She enjoyed having coffee and playing dominos with her friends. She loved her family and her animals and she also enjoyed visting Lakeview Community Church.  

Besides her parents, Mrs. Alsbury was also preceded in death by a step father, Robert Daniken,  a daughter, Julinda Mann, a niece, Brenda Chapman and a nephew, Tracy Johann, brother-in-law Bob McGovern, family friend's, Brenda Paige, Pat (Granny) Gilley, Leroy Gilley. 

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jesse and Vickie Ellison of Mountainburg, Arkansas, Jon and Betty Jo Ellison of Idaho Springs, Colorado, and Richard Alsbury of Arp; three daughter and sons-in-law, Jamie and Keith Bawel of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Johanna and Rob Huber of Troup, and Saraha and Aaron Barnett of Arp; three sisters, Raye Linda McGovern of Greenville, Illinois, Patricia Reed of Phoenix, Arizona, and Debrah Hediger, Greenville, Illinois; one step brother John Daniken; 24 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces nephews.
