Obituary of Billie Sue Bell

Funeral services for Billie Sue Bell, 92, of Tyler, will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, February 11, 2019, at Cottle Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Dykes officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery, Troup. Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Billie Sue was born June 12, 1926, in Troup, Texas, to the late Emory Burton Rector and Vie Roach Rector, and passed away February 7, 2019, in Tyler, Texas. She was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church of Tyler and was a devoted mother, grandmother, a lifelong educator, and an avid animal lover. Her wit, strength, and spirit will forever be in the hearts of her loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her husband Sam Houston Bell and son, Sam Houston Bell, Jr.

Survivors include her son, Stephen Scott Bell of Tyler; two grandchildren, granddaughter, Mary Caroline Bell Atkins and husband Lyle Turner Atkins of Dallas, and grandson, Sean Burton Bell and wife Ashleigh Elizabeth Bell of Dallas and Melanie Bonner Bell, mother of Billie Sue’s grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Scott Bell, Sean Bell, Lyle Atkins, John White, Brian Ruyle, and John Craddock.
