Obituary of Paul Harvey Massey

Memorial services for Paul Harvey Massey, 63 of Whitehouse, will be at 1:00 pm Friday, November 16, 2018,  at Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church in Arp with Reverend Terry Davis officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.

Mr. Massey passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born January 3, 1955 in Odessa, Texas to the late James Massey and Naomi R. Hammock Massey.  He was a general manager for DCD Warehouse in Tyler for over 35 years. Mr. Massey was a soccer coach for over 20 years and his passion for sports continued his entire life as he supported his children and grandson on and off the field. Mr. Massey never met a stranger and shared his faith with others including posting a daily devotional. Mr. Massey also did everything he could to never miss the thrill of a Kansas City Chiefs game or reeling in a big fish in his favorite boat out on the lake. He loved his family, friends and of course all his "puppies."  Anyone who knew him also knew he loved to witness a good rain storm.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, James Harvey Massey, his daughter, Jennifer Ann Massey, a son Lance Allen Massey, his brother Michael James Massey, and father-in-law Ralph Zoellner.

Survivors include his wife, Diana Massey of Whitehouse; his mother, Naomi Ruth Massey of Whitehouse; a stepdaughter, Brittany Matthews of Kansas City, Missouri; a stepson, Devin Matthews of San Diego, California; a grandson, Landon Massey of Whitehouse; two sisters, Kim Daniels of Arp and Tammy Jaramillo of Longview; a brother and sister-in-law, Todd and Karen Massey of Liberty City; his mother-in-law, Mary Outland and husband Lonnie Outland; a sister-in-law, Chris Legler and husband Richard Legler; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
