Obituary of James Ray Stark

Funeral services for James Ray Stark, 55, of Arp, will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Arp Emmanuel Baptist with Dave Bianchi officiating. Private interment to follow at Pinecrest Cemetery. Arrangements are under direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Visitation will be at Arp Emmanuel Baptist, 202 E. Longview Street, Arp, TX 75750 9am-10am on Saturday, August 4th, 2018.

James passed away on July 28, 2018. He was born December 17, 1962 in Fairfield, California to the late James Allen Stark and Mary Lou Beasy Stark. James served in the U.S Air Force and employed with ETMC EMS as a radio communications supervisor for 17 years. He was a member of the Arp Volunteer Fire Department from  2001 until his dearh. He was the president of the Brothers Keepers MC, Tyler, a Long Standing Member of the Patriot Guard, and a member of the Canton Masonic Lodge in Arp.

Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Allen James Poteet.

Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Stark of Arp; two children and their spouses, Sam and Cali Stark of San Antonio, Dawn and Larry Godejohn of Troup; three children by God’s Grace, Robert Poteet of Canton, Jenifer Ashley of Tyler, Jessica Stewart of Troup; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Nathan and Missy Stark of Troup, Mark and Judy Stark of Troup, James Alonzo Terpening, Rue Lee Terpening of Austin, Katherine Kennedy of Bullard, Florence Warrick of Weber’s Falls, OK, Michael and Laura Sahd of Early, TX, Tony Sahd of Cerrillos, NM; 11 grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephew, relatives, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Brothers Keepers MC. Chapter 18, so that they may continue James’ mission to serve the needs of burn survivors in our community. Donations can be sent to BKMC 18, PO Box 8575, Tyler, TX 75711.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that if you choose to send flowers, that they be living plants for an Outdoor Memory Garden.
