Obituary of Irvela Norris Harden

Funeral services for Irvela Norris Harden, 87 of Tyler are scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home chapel in Overton with Reverend Tommy Harden officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Memorial Park in Tyler.

Mrs. Harden passed away Sunday, July 8 in a hospice facility in Tyler. She was born December 14, 1930 in Rusk to the late Hance Lafayette and Annie Mae Ross  Norris and lived most all her life in Tyler. She received her business degree from TJC at the same time as two of her children. She worked as an accountant for Goodwill Industries for twenty years and retired in 1994. Mrs. Harden was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church and leaves a wonderful legacy for her children and grandchildren to follow.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Harden was also preceded in death by her husband James F. Harden, a brother, Arland Norris; and four sisters, Ann Everett, Erma Porter, Lois Davis and Verna Raye Norris, and a  daughter-in-law, Sarah Harden.

Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, James C. and Lynda Harden of Harlingen, Donald Frank and Sandi Harden of Tyler, Mike Harden of Garrison, and Tommy and Tammy Harden of Arp; two daughters and a son-in-law, Doris Harden and Edith and B.J. Harris, all of Tyler; ten grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Hill, Kevin Harden, Chris Turner, Cody Harris, Jonathan Harden, Cameron Garner and Daniel Creedon. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Kennedy, Martin Sequra and Tye Thompson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home,Tuesday, July 10, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
