Obituary of James Thomas Brown
A celebration of life for James Thomas Brown, 74, of Overton, will be held August 18, 2018, under the large pavilion at Kilgore City Park, beginning at 2pm. The family asks you please bring a chair and a covered dish. Details will be updated as the family makes preparations. Arrangements are under direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home in Overton.
Mr. Brown passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 in Overton. He was born January 22, 1944 in Goose Creek, to the late Seymore Wilburn and Verba Lee Gray Brown. He was a carpenter and loved wood working. He married June Carolyn Harris February 22, 1981 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He moved to Overton from Kilgore two years ago, and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Kilgore.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, June Brown of Overton; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard Allen and Victoria Darlene Harris of Leveretts Chapel, Raymond Anthony Smith and Robert Lee and Miriah Miller Smith all of Weatherford, Oklahoma; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
