Obituary of Louise Lillie (Dowdy) Williams

Funeral services for Louise Lillie (Dowdy) Williams, 87, of Arp will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, May 24, 2018 in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel, Overton with Reverend Tommy Harden and Reverend Jerry Hanson officiating. Burial will be in the Mason Cemetery, Arp.

Mrs. Williams passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 in Overton. She was born July 27, 1930, in Troup to the late Claude and Bertha Kleam Dowdy. She married Howard L. Williams February 4, 1949 in Smith County and attended TJC in Tyler. She retired from Tyler Pipe and was owner and operator of Hilltop Ceramics in Arp. She was a member of Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church pp;, and was a member of the church Joy Club.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Williams was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lee Williams, a daughter, Susan Diann Wallace, a brother, Tommy Dowdy and a sister, Eloise Stangler.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Evelyn Williams and Tommy and Tamara Williams, all of Arp; two brothers and sisters-in-law, L. Ray and Wyveda Dowdy of Grandberry and Douglas and Carol Williams of Arp; seven grand children, Brandon Williams, Randall Williams, Russell Williams, Michael Wallace, Justin Wallace, Renee Williams, and Brooke Williams; eleven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other family members and a host of friends.

Grandsons and friends will serving as pallbearers will be Richard Locklear, Michael Dowdy, Michael Wallace, Randall Williams, Russell Williams, Ritchie Martin and Tommy McKelvey. Honorary pallbearer will be Justin Wallace.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, May 23, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
