Obituary of Geneva Jean Pannell

    Services for Geneva Jean Pannell, 86, of Longview, will be held Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery.

    Mrs, Pannell passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 in a Longview hospital. She was born on September 11, 1931 in Oklahoma to the late Floyd Hancock, Sr. and Willie Castella Hancock. She received a degree in accounting and was a bookkeeper for Killingsworth Oil Company, Moore Brothers Lumber Company, Sears and demo companies. She loved to sew and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Longview.

    Besides her parents, Mrs, Pannell was preceded in death by a son, Keith Pannell on November 19, 2014,  a great granddaughter and eight brothers and sisters.

    She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Hershell Pannell of Longview; one son, Kelvin Pannell of Longview; a brother, Dean Hancock of Ft. Worth; four grandchildren and their spouses, Sheri and David Lopez, Gary and Kimberly Watkins, Joe and Robin Watkins and Samantha Fenwick; eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, April 13, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, prior to the service.
